Future Favorites #6

......................................

Future Favorites was created by Eric (Tales of a teenage book lover and Electrifying reviews). Check out his website HERE!!

Future Favorites is a weekly feature on Electrifying Reviews.  Its purpose is to highlight six different books that look tantalizing,  and will hopefully be favorites of ours when we get the chance to read them!!

......................................

......................................

When I write Future Favorites, I try to pick books that have a theme. This month is January--the first month of a new year--the month when people typically try to make resolutions in order to change something about themselves or their lives. Sometimes the resolutions last through the year and sometimes they don't. The great thing, though, is that in making resolutions, we have to really look at ourselves and our actions in order to determine whether we need to fix anything or not.

My list for this week will focus on teens who have to change, whether by choice or unwillingly. We've got a spy-in-training, werewolves, a girl who may be cured of Cancer, best friends who need to make room for a new friend, and more. I've included several classics because....well, because they're classics!!

Please click on the book covers for summaries and drop us a line on YOUR New Year's Resolutions!!!

With her signature heart and humor, Julie Halpern explores a strained friendship strengthened by one girl’s battle with cancer.

But when Alex finally decides to forgive Becca, she finds out something that will change her world again—Becca has cancer.
So what do you do when your best friend has cancer? You help her shave her head. And then you take her bucket list and try to fulfill it on her behalf. Because if that’s all you can do to help your ailing friend—you do it.

Review-
I thought the book was extremely good. I enjoyed how the character Alex went threw a lot of troubles, yet in the end she realized that life is to short and sudden to waste it with regrets. The plot of the book was a very good concept. It had a good rising and falling actions. I also enjoyed the cause and effect threw out the book with Alex and Leo. Overall I thought this book was a good choice and I would recommend it.

Review: The Keep (The Watchers #4) by Veronica Wolff

Summary-
JUST BECAUSE YOU WORK FOR THE DEAD DOESN’T MEAN YOU WANT TO JOIN THEM.
Drew has just started her second year on the Isle of Night, and the weather isn’t the only thing changing drastically. She has ascended to the rank of Initiate. She’s also found an intimate love in the handsome vampire, Carden. But most of all, she no longer dreams of escape. She dreams of vengeance.
Her friend, Emma, was brutally wounded by the savage vampire Alcántara, and may have been taken to the dreaded castle, from which none of the living return. But there are so many different stories from so many people with so many of their own deceits and machinations, Drew can’t be sure of anything—except that she must find a way into the castle to discover the truth and take down Alcántara once and for all.
But Drew isn’t the only one out for revenge. Someone very dangerous on the island is also out for blood…

Review-
This series just keeps getting better and better. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. Drew (Heroine) is a strong girl that has a blood bond that helps to make the story. The storyline just keeps getting more exciting and I cant wait t turn the page so that I can see whats coming next. Your never sure who Drew's enemies and friends are. The storyline is well written and well executed and makes me anxious for part 5. The characters are well written and easy to understand. I can hardly wait for part 5. I highly recommend this series. Its different from your typical vampire stories. Well worth your time.

Review & Giveaway: Burn (Pure #3) By Julianna Baggott

Summary-
Inside the Dome, Patridge has taken his father's place as leader of the Pures. His struggle has led him here, intent upon bringing down the Dome from the inside, with the help of a secret resistance force. But things are not as simple from his new position of power and he finds himself tempted by his father's words: perhaps if the world is to survive it needs the Dome - and Partridge - to rule it...
As Partridge's resolve weakens, Pressia and Bradwell continue piecing together the clues left to them from the time before the Detonations. It is their hope that they will be able to heal the Wretches, and free them from their monstrous fusings and the Dome's oppression once and for all. But everything depends, too, on Partridge. Separated by distance and history, can they still trust their friend and ally? Or is the world doomed to an eternity of war and hardship?

Review-

Burn is the third book in the Pure series. I have fallen in love with the characters Pressia, Partridge, Lyda. Cap and the rest of the gang. And I will miss them. The story develops well and is well written. It is also  executed well. The book is action packed from beginning to end. There are a few loose ends that could be written into another book but for the most part the ending was ok. The book is written from each characters point of view. The author does an excellent job of writing the different POVs while keeping the characters stories straight.  Not once was i confused. The story was steady and strong all the way through. The characters are likable and easy to associate with. They are unique in their own way and they grow stronger through the series. If you haven't read this series I highly recommend that you get it and  I promise you wont want to put it down.
