Future Favorites is a weekly feature on Electrifying Reviews.  Its purpose is to highlight six different books that look tantalizing,  and will hopefully be favorites of ours when we get the chance to read them!!
I've got another set of School-related books to finish off the month of September. The next Future Favorites in October will be a different theme...can you guess what it is? Enjoy this list and, as always, let us know if you have some to add to it.

    Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

    • Grab your current read.

    • Open to a random page.
    • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
    • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
    • Share the title and author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"In the next instant, the boys were on her. With a shoulder shove, she was pushed to the ground by Joshua Doyle. She tried to twist onto her side, but Joshua's weight settled on her as he straddled her torso. She reached out to push him away. His rough fingers clamped onto her wrists, pinching her skin. With a sudden jerking motion, he brought her arms up on either side of her head and pinned them down to the clay. The small rocks in the clay dug into her arms." p. 3

Review: Rose (Rose #1) by Holly Webb

    Summary-
The grand residence of the famous alchemist, Mr Fountain, is a world away from the dark orphanage Rose has left behind. For the house is positively overflowing with sparkling magic—she can feel it. And it’s not long before Rose realises that maybe, just maybe, she has a little bit of magic in her, too. . . .The first book in an exciting, get-lost-in-the-world series about orphans, alchemy, magical powers and sinister child-catchers.

    Review-
Rose is the first book in Holly Webb's Rose series. This young adult series focuses on the orphan Rose who has been plucked from the orphanage in order to become a maid at magician Mr. Fountain's house. It's in this magical home that Rose reluctantly realizes she has magical abilities too. With the help of Mr. Fountain's apprentice Freddie and shape-shifting cat Gus, Rose must use her magic to find out why children throughout London have been disappearing.
I absolutely loved this book from the slightly gothic Rose on the cover to the horrific evil that is being forced on the kidnapped children. Holly Webb has created a cast full of fun and interactive characters in the orphan children, the kidnapped children, the servants in Mr. Fountain's house, and the upper crust occupants of the home. And she's obviously done her homework since I, as an avid reader of books about the British ton, found that the settings and circumstances were correct for that time period. Rose is an adventurous and magical book starring a little girl with a lot of gumption--a book that will entertain readers, young and old. This series is a FIVE STAR read.

Review: Violins of autumn by Amy McAuley

    Summary-
When the Germans begin bombing London in World War II, Betty is determined to do her part. Instead of running air raid drills like most girls her age, she lies about her age and trains to become a spy. Now known by her secret agent persona, Adele Blanchard, she finds herself parachuting over German-occupied France under the cover of darkness to join the secret Resistance movement. Prepared to die for her cause, Adele wasn’t expecting to make a new best friend in her fellow agent or fall for a handsome American pilot. With the brutality of war ever present, can Adele dare to dream of a future where the world is at peace and she is free to live and love of her own accord?

    Review-
I finished this book a few days ago. I had to take this time to think things through & to be able to vocalize my thoughts. Even now I'm sure that I will not do it justice. Here goes.... This book was just as good as, if not better than the first in the trilogy. It totally captivated me and my imagination. There are so many unexpected events that I was on the edge of my seat the entire story. The storyline is very exciting & mysterious & heart warming and sooo much more. I could tell the author put a lot of thought & feeling into this story. The main character has a very unusual & unique power. She is the only one of her kind, very original. By the end of the book she is finally getting it all together. All the important plot points come together & falls into complete harmony. I love this story and it's characters. I can not wait to read the last book of this breathtaking trilogy. You won't be able to put the book down! Happy Reading!!

Review: I'm with Stupid by Geoff Herbach

    Summary-
Felton Reinstein has never been good with stress. Which is why he's seriously freaking out. Revealing his college choice on national TV? It's a heart attack waiting to happen. Deciding on a major for the next four years of his life? Ridiculous. He barely even knows who he is outside of football. And so...he embarks on The Epic Quest to Be Meaningful.

    Which leads to:
    1. Mentoring a freshman called Pig Boy.
    2. The state of Wisconsin hating him.
    3. His track coach suspending him.
    4. The funniest viral video the world has ever seen.
    5. A whole new appreciation for his family, his friends, and what's really important in life.

    Review-
The book was very emotional, but it teaches many important lessons. The lessons were for mainly teenagers to adults about hard problems they will come across and how to fix them. The book also shows how to deal with bullies peacefully. It also shows how to know yourself. It also teaches you how to know what choice you want.

The girl next door by Selene Castrovilla Blog Tour & Giveaway

    ABOUT THE GIRL NEXT DOOR
eBook Publication Date: May 24, 2013
Two teens are forced to make some very grown-up decisions when one of them is diagnosed with terminal cancer, twisting them into an unpredictable nightmare. Best friends since toddlerhood, Samantha and Jesse grapple with the realization that they are actually in love. What now? Beautifully written while handling a very heavy topic, Castrovilla addresses the universal question: In a world where the worst can strike at any time, how can we ever feel safe?

    Review-
I am normally a paranormal romance reader but when i saw the cover of this book it just made me intrigued about the story.  Im glad it did! This turned out to be a love story that will transcend time. i don't have cancer nor do I know anyone that has had cancer so that part of the book was a learning lesson for me. The book is well written and well executed and the storyline draws you in, I was drawn in from page one. It is a young love story that i was drawn into. The main characters are relate able and very believable. The side characters are believeable also. Not once did I catch my self questioning the parenting in this book. If you want a really whole hearted real love story then this book is for you! I highly recommend this book to anyone. It is a nice change from the paranormal genre.

We found that Anthony's age group of 18 plus, doesn't have the emotional or financial support that other age groups do. We are also aware of the unique situations that this age group faces and want to help those adolescents and their families.
