Audio Book Review: City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) by Cassandra Clare

Summary-
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.
To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?
In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.

Review-
Listening to this book reminds me why I think Cassandra Clare is one of the most talented authors I have had the honor of listening to. She is a storyteller like no other. I have already read this series but listening to it gives it a fresh vibe that makes me honored to be able to review.
The narrator Natalie Moore does a great job reading the story. She makes the perfect Clary. She has a voice that sounds like a teenager and that fits the story. She does an excellent job.
The storyline is just breath taking. It is remarkable and long lasting even after you are finished with this book. It is action packed and the romance in it just keeps me tuned in. Cassandra Clare does an excellent job of continuing on a world that she has created that is highly addictive.
The characters are well defined and stable. They are fine tuned in this story and you cant help but love them.
Listening to this series makes me know what an honor it is to review for Simon & Schuster audio. If you haven't read this book Run don't walk to start City of Bones. If you have read it and just want to refresh pick up the audio book of this series. It is absolutely worth it!
