I hand him back his ID and start to walk away. I feel his hand grab my wrist firmly, yet he also did it with an undeniable gentleness that's impossible to describe with words. It just felt...contradictory.

"You know, if you wanted to know my name, you could have just asked me, Liz. A pretty girl like you doesn't need to hide behind such transparent schemes."

And now, I'm mortified. Was I really that obvious?

Sounds great, right?! We've all done embarassing things so I felt for Liz at this section. And of course her mom is missing so it's very
mysterious....

Pg. ? (Who knows! It's a Kindle, lol)

When You Were Here, by Daisy Whitney
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Release Date: 4 June 2013

Filled with humor, raw emotion, a strong voice, and a brilliant dog named Sandy Koufax, When You Were Here explores the two most powerful forces known to Man--Death and Love. Daisy Whitney brings her characters to life with a deft touch and resonating authenticity.
Danny's mother lost her five-year battle with cancer three weeks before his graduation--the one day that she was hanging on to see.

Now Danny is left alone, with only his memories, his dog, and his heart-breaking ex-girlfriend for company. He doesn't know how to figure out what to do with her estate, what to say for his Valedictorian speech, let alone how to live or be happy anymore.

When he gets a letter from his mom's property manager in Tokyo, where she had been going for treatment, it shows a side of his mother that Danny never knew. So, with no other sense of direction, Danny travels to Tokyo to connect with his mother's memory and make sense of her final months, which seemed filled with more joy than Danny ever knew. There, among the cherry blossoms, temples, and crowds, and with the help of an almost-but-definitely-not Harajuku girl, he begins to see how it may not have been ancient magic or mystical treatment that kept his mother going. Perhaps, the secret of how to live lies in how she died.

Review: Every other day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Summary-
Every other day, Kali D’Angelo is a normal sixteen-year-old girl. She goes to public high school. She argues with her father. She’s human.
And then every day in between . . . she’s something else entirely.
Though she still looks like herself, every twenty-four hours predatory instincts take over and Kali becomes a feared demon-hunter with the undeniable urge to hunt, trap, and kill zombies, hellhounds, and other supernatural creatures. Kali has no idea why she is the way she is, but she gives in to instinct anyway. Even though the government considers it environmental terrorism.
When Kali notices a mark on the lower back of a popular girl at school, she knows instantly that the girl is marked for death by one of these creatures. Kali has twenty-four hours to save her, and unfortunately she’ll have to do it as a human. With the help of a few new friends, Kali takes a risk that her human body might not survive . . . and learns the secrets of her mysterious condition in the process.

Review-
Right before starting this book I felt as if I were in a funk. I just couldn't get myself together enough to even start a book. Let alone finish one. Am I ever glad that I pushed on and picked up this book. I certainly never expected to get back in the groove as fast as I did. The book starts out with plenty of action. It kept me totally engrossed the whole way through. The storyline has such an unusual take on the supernatural realm and the abilities of the main character. The characters certainly have their hands full trying to figure out what's going on. The main character is a very strong willed, tender hearted and caring young lady who becomes extremely protective of the people whom she cares for. I really liked the on-again, off-again way her abilities manifest themselves. Love the way it's a cliff hanger and can't wait to read a follow up! If you're in a rut and need something lively to get you back on track then this is most definitely a good book to try.

    Review-
WOW I haven't read a really good good girl loves bad boy love story since pushing the limits. But Wendy Higgins has topped that for me. This book had me from the beginning i was absorbed into the world that this author has created. Not once was i lost or confused. The storyline flowed from one chapter right into the next chapter. The storyline was more than well written it was absorbing and so very well executed. I felt with her characters.
The heroin Anna is brave and smart and knows who she is and where she stands. She never wavers from the fact that she loves Kaiden (the bad boy) Even though she is led to believe it can never be. I loved Twilight the vampire and the human that was my first YA series and still hold a special place for me but for me this is even better. The bad boy never forgets who or what he is and he feels that not being with her is best for her so I spent every minute of 453 pages turning the awesome love story from one scene to the next. I cant recommend this story enough and I am already half way through book two. My only downfall about this series is that i have to wait till spring to get the ending of this story!!! Ive tried getting it out of the author but she wont budge! She will give NO hints to me LOL. If you want a really good love story with some paranormal to it get this book NOW. It  is a great read for lovers of Twilight or Evernight....I can sooo see this a movie!
